At Equity in Connectivity, we help groups that have lower likelihood of being digitally included in New Zealand because we believe that digital inclusion relates to waiora/wellbeing. Having access to the internet empowers and enables growth.
In 2017 NZES reported that only 69% of those living in Housing NZ (or the local equivalent of social housing), had access to the internet, compared with 91% reporting access across all respondents.
Furthermore, only 71% of people with disabilities report having access to the internet. NZCVS reported in 2018 that 17% of people with disabilities indicate having no internet access, compared to the full sample where just 5% have no internet access.

Equity in Connectivity is a nonprofit platform that allows anyone to sponsor Internet access and devices to communities, students, and even micro business owners who are in great need and whose livelihood is significantly impacted by the lack of better internet connectivity. Our mission is to ensure that everyone has access to the internet and in effect, improve the lives of many who find themselves on the wrong side of the digital gap.
