Equity in Connectivity wants to improve the lives of the many who find themselves on the wrong side of the digital gap. The mission of equity in connectivity is to ensure that everyone has access to the internet. In 2016 the UN General Assembly passed a non-binding Resolution that "declared internet access a human right.
Therefore if we fail to provide continuous and secure connections to our marginalised populations, we widen the digital gap. We continue to fuel inequalities and more importantly, as a community we fail to benefit from their collective knowledge, talent and contributions to economic prosperity
We can donate food, time, money but often internet access is almost impossible. Equity in Connectivity looks to bridge the digital divide. This platform looks to ensure doners can donate 'internet' users like to schools, students, projects and micro-small business owners. We want to promote how the internet is able to:
- Creates new opportunities in education, skill and employability enhancement and gender empowerment
- Ensure communities are kept up to date with sources of communication. It allows us to warn of disease outbreaks, report security threats
- Upskill educate and enhance skills that are substantially rewarded in the labour market
- Increased financial gains and productivity, improve consumer choice and labour market search efficiency
